Did you know that all commercial trailer repairs and trailer safety inspections, BIT/DOTs, for your fleet are identified in a Fleet Service Plan™ (FSP) from Managed Mobile? An FSP is what you need to maintain a safe, compliant, and reliable fleet. With a customized FSP, we can match managed maintenance services according to how you use your trucks and trailers and your budget. Critical components in every successful FSP are BIT Safety Inspections and DOT Safety Inspections. Once we craft an FSP for your fleet, Managed Mobile fleet professionals will manage and track your commercial vehicle and trailer inspections to help ensure they are performed on time, every time.

Part of our comprehensive repair plan is to keep up with all safety inspections. This is another way that Managed Mobile keeps your fleet safe, compliant and reliable. Our routine inspections of commercial trailers include screening for mechanical issues, defects, and worn components.
Managed Mobile performs comprehensive commercial trailer inspections for compliance with BIT and DOT regulatory requirements. The Basic Inspection of Terminals (BIT) Program requires that all commercial trucks and trailers based and operating in California with a gross vehicle weight rating of 10,001 pounds or more must receive a bumper to bumper safety inspection every 90 days. Similarly, commercial trucks and trailers operating in the U.S. that weigh more than 10,000 pounds, or that carry hazardous materials regardless of weight, are required by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) to have an annual federal inspection.
BIT/DOT bumper to bumper trailer safety inspections require a close examination of all the key system components, including:
- Suspension System
- King Pin/Coupling Devices
- Wheels, Hubs, Axles
- Brake Components and Braking System
- Frame and Support
- Trailer Body
- Lighting and Electrical
- Tire Condition and Inflation
